The Story The medals awarded to John Hughes were acquired from E-Bay on 11th October 2024 and of immediate interest because of the Emergency Reserve Decoration and EIIR Special Constabulary Long Service Medal combination, the first such in this collection and unusual to see.
Sadly, because of the common name nothing could be specifically found on Ancestry, but the London Gazette entries enabled his basic service movements to be detailed.
Another interesting dimension to the double Long Service theme.
