The Story The group of medals awarded to W Addison were acquired from a Numismatist in Warwick Antique Centre on 11th May 2015, having initially been seen two days before on 9th.
They were of immediate interest for a number of reasons. The double clasped General Service Medal, the inclusion of an Africa General Service Medal, the service number and Corps remained the same throughout W Addison’s career and the fact he had seen campaign service been and awarded medals before, during and after World War II.
It was also good to have a Long Service Medal included in the group.
Sadly no detail can be found about W Addison as there are so many on Ancestry.UK and it is not known where he lived. Nevertheless an interesting and hard earned group of campaign medals awarded to a long serving soldier.
