The Story The medals awarded to Lionel Alfred Allen were acquired from dealer Johnny Sparrow, via Facebook on 26th July 2022 and as part of a package of four groups. They were of interest because of the Special Constabulary Long Service and Silver Jubilee Medal 1977 combination, to a senior ranking Special Officer.
Some detail including copies of Lionel’s birth, marriage and death certificates came with the medals enabling a trawl of Ancestry.UK, Find a Will and Google and a brief biography to be pieced together.
