The Story The quite scarce combination of medals awarded to Frederick John Angeletta were acquired from the London Medal Centre on 25th June 2018 and of interest because of the double long service awards, and Silver Jubilee 1977 Medal within an RAFVR(T) group.
The medals which had previously been auctioned on 17th August 2016 by Tamlyn & Son in Somerset, were first seen at the OMRS Convention in Stratford Upon Avon in September 2017, followed by a visit to the LMC in December 2017, when it was advised they had been sold! Only for them to appear on their web site during early 2018.
A brief biography has been assembled from Ancestry.UK, the London Gazette and an internet trawl. Following a cursory search of his name again in June 2022, a photograph and more detail were found enabling his story to be expanded.
The group also fits comfortably into two themes within this collection, double long service and Police Officers with a Silver Jubilee Medal 1977.
