Bombardier C E Ash Royal Artillery

Picture
The Man   C E Ash was born in about 1911-18.  He enlisted into the Territorial Army, Royal Artillery before the outbreak of World War II on 3rd September 1939 and served in the Coast Artillery and Searchlight Regiment with service number 2050589.

He saw service overseas either in Dunkirk as part of the BEF or Norway.

No other detail is known, sadly, about C E Ash.

The Story
The medal group awarded to CE Ash were acquired on a whim from e-Bay on 8th March 2022, mainly because of the low price and only a few minutes remaining until the end of the auction.  A bid was placed and surprisingly the medals won.

Apart from Forces War Records confirming the award of the Efficiency Medal, no other definite detail could be found on Ancestry.UK as there were at least three possible matches, all born within a possible likely birth range.
