The Woman   Emily Scott Hair was born on 17th January 1917 in Arbroath, Angus, Scotland.  During World War II Emily enlisted into the Women’s Royal Air Forces serving at home for the duration of the conflict and was awarded the Defence Medal and War Medal 1939-45 for her services.  During 1946 she married David McNicol Campbell, a World War II RAF pilot and had two children, Kenneth Scott and David McNicol junior before moving to ‘Southcroft’ 30 Frazer Street, Largs in Ayrshire.  During the 1950 Emily, David and family lived at 92, Eleanor Road in Harrogate, having moved south for David’s work.  Emily worked as a milliner.  In later life Emily and David moved to 8 Undercroft, Dunnington in York and she sadly passed away on 28th January 2005 aged just 88, having suffered from dementia and hypertension and atrial fibrillation.  Emily was buried at St Nicholas Church Dunnington.  David died a few months later on 30th December 2005 and was buried alongside Emily.
