Lance Corporal P R Davis  Royal Corps of Transport

The Man   P R Davies enlisted into the Royal Corps of Transport as a Driver with service number 24413736.  He saw service in Northern Ireland and Cyprus and awarded the General Service Medal and United Nations Medal.

In 2002 he was awarded the Golden Jubilee Medal.

No other detail is known about P R Davis

The Story   The trio of medals awarded to P R Davies were acquired from E-Bay on 25th April 2022.

They were of interest because of their simplicity; the General Service with Northern Ireland clasp and United Nations Cyprus medals being the usual ‘pre Operational Service Medal and Jubilee Medal’ awards.  Many service personnel being awarded just these two medals.

It is good to have the officially named box of issue for the Golden Jubilee Medal, thus confirming its award, making an interesting addition to this collection and a combination not seen too often.

Sadly, assuming a birth date of about 1950 there are at least three R P Davis’s on Ancestry.UK and no further information is currently available.
