Fireman John Plummer SBStJ Fire Brigade and St John Ambulance Service
The Man The only detail know about John Plummer is that he served in the Fire Brigade and St John Ambulance Service, being awarded the Fire Brigade Long Service Medal, the Service Medal of the Order of St John in 1964 with four additional clasps, presumably in 1970, 1976, 1982 and 1986. He was also appointed as a Serving Brother of the Order in the London Gazette of 6th February 1981.
The Story The medals awarded to John Plummer were acquired from E-Bay on 11th September 2023 and of interest because of the unusual double long service combination, although there is a similar set in this collection to Frederick Dale Coggan.
Sadly, no information, apart from the London Gazette entry, could be found due to so many John Plummer’s appearing on Ancestry.UK.
