He said "As discussed last night here are five photos I've obtained this week which include reference to a Bandsman named H Scrimshaw.
- The first photo includes an "older" H Scrimshaw as a trombonist, but I don't think this is your man.
- The second photo includes two H Scrimshaws. The "older" trombonist and a "younger" cornetist who I think is your man.
- The third photo only includes the "younger" H Scrimshaw.
- The fourth photo also only includes the "younger" H Scrimshaw and is dated sometime between 1909 and 1915. I think this is more likely to be 1914 ish rather than 1909 ish as the soldier on the far left is wearing the Imperial Service Badge. I have taken a snap shot of H Scrimshaw from the photo and also attach.
- The fifth photo also includes the "younger" H Scrimshaw and as it is dated after the commencement of WW1 in my opinion confirms your man as the "younger" H Scrimshaw. It also confirms that this man is a cornet player".
