Warrant Officer Class II R C Shaw Royal Army Pay Corps
The Man R C Shaw was born around 1947 and joined the Territorial Army in 1965. He served in the Royal Army Pay Corps with service number 23119616 and was promoted through the ranks to Warrant Officer Class II.
In Army List 116 of August 1977, he was awarded his Efficiency Medal ‘T&AVR’, followed by his first clasp in Army List 132 of June 1982 both as a Staff Sergeant and the second clasp in List 155 of March 1988 as WO Class II.
The Story The medal awarded to R C Shaw was acquired from E-Bay on 24th August 2023 and of interest because of the double clasped award.
Sadly, no additional detail could be found on Ancestry.UK as there were a small number of people with matching first names born in around 1947, but the Army lists confirming award of the medal and clasps were available from the OMRS Tamplin Archive.
