Warrant Officer Class II N C Taylor Loyal Regiment, Royal Army Pay Corps and Adjutant General's Corps
The Man N C Taylor was born in about 1935 and in 1955 aged 18 enlisted into the Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire) with service number 22728935. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant and in 1967 was awarded the Efficiency Medal ‘Territorial’, appearing in Army Order 62 of that year.
Upon the disbandment of the Loyal Regiment in 1970 he transferred to the Royal Army Pay Corps as a Sergeant and subsequently to the Adjutant General’s Corps, which amalgamated with the RAPC in 1992.
He was transferred into the Territorial Army & Volunteer Reserve following its creation in 1969 and awarded his Efficiency Medal ‘T&AVR’ named to him in the RAPC as a Sergeant List 140 of 1984. He received his first clasp in List 160 of 1989 as WO2 and the second clasp in List 183 of 1995 showing as a WO2 (discharged) from the AGC (Staff and Personnel support branch).
No other detail is known about N C Taylor.
The Story The medals awarded to N C Taylor were acquired from Charlies Medals online and of interest because of the double long service combination. Although this is not the first such combination with two clasps to the EM(T&AVR) in this collection, they are always of interest.
The medals have been left mounted as worn, in the wrong order.
Sadly there are simply too many N C Taylors born at around 1935 to be able to make a definitive decision which one is him.
