A Triple for Thomas
Sergeant A G Thomas Royal Artillery
The Man Little detail is known about A G Thomas, except that he served in the Royal Artillery, Territorial Army with service number 2026793. It is possible he served with a home defence anti aircraft unit during World War II.
He was awarded the Defence and War Medal 1939-45 and the Efficiency Medal ‘Territorial’ and either remained in or re-enlisted back into the TA and was awarded a further three clasps to his Efficiency Medal representing 24 years with the TA, with war service counting double. The Story The medals awarded to A G Thomas were acquired from e-bay in August 2014. They were of interest because of the three bars on the Efficiency Medal, all being a Queen’s Crown compared to the George VI medal. Unfortunately it has not been possible to locate any information from ancestry.com due to the number of people with the same name. |
