The Story The medal pair awarded to Eric Arthur Wilson were acquired from the Malvern Flea Fair on 18th April 2022 and of immediate interest because of the double long service combination, but more importantly, the fact the Efficiency Decoration was the post 1988 ‘Territorial’ version with the two-tone ribbon and the Efficiency Medal the earlier ‘T&AVR’ type. A combination not seen too often and the first in this collection.
Following hurried confirmation of the awards on the internet using both London Gazette and Forces War Records an offer was made and accepted and the medals taken into custodianship.
Sadly, the number of Eric Arthur Wilson’s on Ancestry.UK prevented any detailed research, but the LG and FWR enabled a brief biography to be completed.
It is likely that Eric was born in about 1945, therefore feasible that at the time of acquisition still alive, or only recently having passed away
