The Story The medal group to J R Winestein were acquired from Gary Don Auctioneers on 31st January 2023 and bid for following the successful acquisition of another group, on a whim, as the price was so low. However, not so much when adding hammer, VAT and delivery costs!
Despite the unusual surname, no trace could be found on Ancestry.UK. The only records available being the Army Order confirming the award of his Efficiency Medal.
A possible story to be told with the unusual name and likely Jewish ancestry.
