The Story Stephen G Croft was born during the final quarter of 1944, only son of William George Croft and Minnie, nee Hughes and Grandson of Percy Croft.
Little detail is known about Stephen, but in about 1978 aged 34 he joined the Territorial Army, Royal Engineers with service number 24036865.
During the first quarter of 1976 he married Elaine M Swift in St Helen’s, Merseyside.
In Army Order 163 of July 1990, he was awarded his Efficiency Medal ‘Territorial’ (1982) as a Sergeant and in the early 2000s lived at 67, Holcombe Close, Kearsley, Bolton and possibly later at 63, Hamilton Road, Ashton-In-Makerfield.
