Very little detail was found on Ancestry.com despite Pete's - Alick’s unusual name. However Pete's son subsequently made contact via this web site and was very helpful in providing photographs and extra biographical detail to enable another face to be put to the Man Behind his Medals.
Additionally, Pete's son was able to confirm that his father had also been awarded the Jubilee Medal 1977 although this was not with the original group.
Following a further trawl of Ancestry in 2023, Pete’s marriage and details of his parents were found, his name having been misspelt on the register as Alec and then transcribed as Alce on the search details.
