Private A Webster 1st Volunteer Battalion Suffolk Regiment

Picture
A Webster

Volunteer Long Service Medal

The Man   Private A Webster served in the 1st Battalion Suffolk Regiment, service number 109, enlisting in about 1875.  He was awarded the Volunteer Long Service Medal in Army Orders dated 17th January 1895, having completed 20 years.

The Story   This medal holds a special place within my collection as it was given to me by my brother on my 21st Birthday in 1982, originally having come from his own collection.  Basic details as above have been taken  from the Army Orders 17th January 1895.

This medal is one I have not been able to find any detail on.  It is in effect 'work in progress' as one day something additional may well be uncovered.  Please feel free to
contact me should you know of, or have any information on this man.
